Netflix in Paris in New York City

Netflix, the American media service provider and production company, is now also the operator of the Paris Theatre, the last single-screen theater in New York City.

Netflix is now offering its movie options in the NYC Paris Theater

The 71-year-old cinema closed earlier in 2019 when the previous lease expired. Netflix reopened Paris in time for the holiday season with its own acclaimed movie, “Marriage Story,” with stars Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson.

The Paris is an iconic New York City arts facility. Actress Marlene Dietrich cut the ribbon during the grand opening in 1948. Located on West 58th Street in Manhattan, right across from another city landmark- The Plaza hotel– Paris offers a unique movie-watching experience.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, said,

“we are incredibly proud to preserve this historic New York institution so it can continue to be a cinematic home for film lovers.”

Sarandos also said that Netflix plans to use the venue for “special events, screenings, and theatrical releases of its films.”
