Amazon has announced plans to open a new 35,000-square-foot office in New York City in 2021. The new facility will be located in the Hudson Yards area and will employ over 1,500 people.

Earlier in 2019, Amazon scrapped its plans to open HQ2, the name it gave its NYC headquarters. This December announcement emphasized that the company will receive no tax breaks or financial inducements for the new office project.

Amazon already has over 3,500 employees in New York City and an additional 5,000 workers in warehouses in the area.
